Mission Accomplished: The Recording Sessions Are Done!
Orbert and the CJP musicians spent all of last week recording the various sections of Havana Blue, Sketches, and The Chicago River. The sessions went really well even though some went longer than planned – the rhythm section worked till 2AM! But it was worth it because the sound was terrific. Orbert Davis’ Chicago Jazz Philharmonic Kickstarter Campaign Is Fully Funded Recording Begins on “Havana Blue”, “The Chicago River”, and “Sketches of Spain (Revisited)” [Chicago, IL] — The Chicago Jazz Philharmonic (CJP), led by artistic director and composer Orbert Davis, has successfully completed their Kickstarter campaign to cover the cost of recording three of Davis’ most popular works: Havana Blue, The Chicago River and Sketches of Spain (Revisited). Planning has already commenced to begin recording sessions in November. This ambitious undertaking, aptly dubbed the ‘CJP Trilogy Recording Project,’ will produce 3 professionally recorded audio CDs to be released individually over the next 18 months. Learn more at...
